Fat Reduction

The most exciting breakthrough in body contouring has been the advent of non-invasive technologies that reduce fat without any incision, anesthesia, or downtime.

Fat molecules can either be stored in the body (within fat cells or in the liver) or metabolized (burned off and used as fuel through activity). Thus, fat molecules that are not used up by the body’s metabolism are stored in the cells for future use. Contrary to popular belief, fat cells can only be removed from the body through liposuction or non-invasive fat elimination technologies and otherwise cannot be excreted or destroyed in any other way.

Non-invasive fat reduction and weight loss are therefore not the same. With weight loss, fat cells shrink, but their number remains unchanged. With most non-invasive fat reduction technologies, a certain number of fat cells are permanently eliminated. There are also some technologies that simply make the live fat cells leaky and fat content is released out and metabolized.

Non-invasive fat reduction devices are designed for body contouring in conjunction with good diet and exercise. They are not a weight reduction method.
