THE TREATMENT:
The non-invasive, in-office procedure can be used to treat large areas (i.e. the full face) or used as a spot treatment (i.e. isolated surgical scars).
Three sessions, spaced four to six weeks apart, are recommended for maximum results. Some may notice mild redness, swelling, or a slight sunburn-like sensation that resolves within 2 to 24 hours after treatment.
ICON CLEAR vs. ABLATIVE LASERS
Icon Clear is designed to ultimately deliver the same results as a high impact, ablative resurfacing laser. Though ablative lasers (like Active Fx) only require one treatment, they often have a significant downtime of at least 5 days. Icon Clear requires more treatment sessions, but each has minimal downtime.

Skintel® Melanin Reader™ : Icon’s proprietary Skintel® Melanin Reader™ precisely and objectively measures the melanin content in your skin, allowing your practitioner to adjust your treatment settings to deliver the safest and most impactful treatment possible.
Less Downtime than Fraxel: Unlike Fraxel treatments, which tend to cause prolonged inflammation and swelling, the Icon’s™ fractionated energy delivery system delivers high-impact results with minimal downtime.
Melasma Treatment: Melasma is a particularly difficult condition to treat and is caused by a combination of factors that include hormone levels and genetic predisposition. Because melasma can be made worse by certain energy types, treatment options are limited. Icon’s™ fractionated microbeam energy is one of the few technologies that is calibrated to safely reduce the appearance of melasma without causing hyper- or hypo- pigmentation.
