Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP)

The Gold Standard in Bio-Regenerative Anti-Aging

WHAT IS PRP?

Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) is a concentrated solution of platelets obtained from your own blood. Topical and injectable PRP treatments activate your body to release essential growth factors and fibroblasts, improving skin elasticity, texture and tone, and vascularization. PRP also has anti-inflammatory properties that help delay skin aging.

PRP are effective for the face, neck, chest, and body and are commonly used to correct:

  • Fine lines and wrinkles
  • Scarring
  • Stretch marks
  • Skin tone
  • Skin texture
  • Discoloration
  • Aging and sun-damaged skin

WHAT DO PLATELETS DO?

Platelets release growth factors which regulate the healing cascade by signaling to surrounding cells to repair damaged tissue and regenerate new tissue. Key growth factors involved in this process include but are not limited to:

  • Platelet-Derived Growth Factor (PDGF)
  • Transforming Growth Factor group (TGF)
  • Epidermal Growth Factor (EGF)
  • Vascular Endothelial Growth Factor (VEGF)
  • Fibroblast Growth Factor (FGF)
  • Keratinocyte Growth Factor (KGF)

THE TREATMENT:

PRP treatments are minimally invasive and performed in-office. A small sample of blood is collected from your arm and processed in a centrifuge to isolate the platelet-rich plasma from the other components of the blood.

PRP can then either be injected into the skin or applied topically before microneedling (see PRP SkinFusion). Injectable and topical PRP treatments can be performed simultaneously in a procedure known as PRP DUAL PLANE in order to maximize results.

Downtime is minimal, with possible, temporary bruising or redness after injection and mild redness after microneedling.

THE RESULTS:

A series of two to three treatments is usually needed for optimal results. Most patients observe results within 1-2 months. PRP treatments are an excellent adjunct to chemical peels, laser treatments, Ultherapy, or nanofat grafting
